Learn about Bath Salts
Jonathan L. Richards, Special Agent, Maine Drug Enforcement Administration will provide a presentation in Phil Watkin’s HUS 125 “Chemical Dependency” class on Friday, February 10, 4:00-6:45 P.M.
Although illegal in Maine, bath salts are becoming increasingly available. Bath salts are synthetic substances that act like powerful stimulant drugs and produce severe side effects such as anxiety, agitation, even fits and delusions. More serious side effects include seizures, aggression and severe paranoia. The drug has also been linked to at least three deaths in the Bangor area.
The presentation will include a lecture and slide show followed by a question and answer session. The presentation will be available at the Bath/Brunswick Center and is open to students and interested community members.
