Mini and Winter Sessions are designed to offer courses to those who may want to fill in a missing course, try something new or accelerate their progress toward a degree from the University of Maine System.

The Mini Session is a shorter term that begins October 26 after the start of the fall semester offering degree credit courses. The courses allow students to earn additional credits or to explore areas of interest outside of the regular semester schedule. Current students often enroll in a Mini Session course to complete a degree or to retake a course if needed. Those who expect to take a demanding load of courses during the spring may use the Mini and/or Winter Session beginning in December to lighten the course load or use the opportunity to concentrate on just one subject.
