If you are a qualified student, we encourage you to apply for admission. Our universities make admission decisions on a rolling basis, and each application is considered carefully.

If you want to receive financial aid and/or enter a degree program, you must apply for admission through a UMS home campus.

Transcripts:

Have copies of your official transcripts sent directly to the University from all of the schools you have previously attended, including: High school, Adult Education, GED test scores (students can send a copy of their own scores) and previous colleges.

Note: High school/Adult Ed. information is required of any student with fewer than 60 credits completed at the college level.

Deadlines

Apply as early as you can!

Admission deadlines vary from one campus to another, so check with the admissions office of the campus to which you are applying.  Generally, it takes about 1-1/2 to 2 months to complete the admission and financial aid application processes, from start to finish.

Application fees: Most campuses charge $40.00 for each application submitted.

Transferring Credits

Articulation Agreements. To help you reach your educational goals, the University of Maine System has created more than 70 transfer agreements among its universities, with the Maine Community College System, and with other institutions. Please contact a university transfer officer for more information.

International Opportunities. The University of Maine System has opportunities for our students to study in France, Quebec and other locations.

Shared Processing Center. All transfer applications are processed by the University of Maine System Shared Processing Center (SPC). Admissions criteria and entrance requirements vary by university, please contact the Transfer Officers for additional information.
