Join Katahdin Woods and Waters for a day of adventure where you can chose to hike, mountain bike, attend their popular Campfire Chats followed by guided star viewing with knowledgeable Astronomers and Astro VIP’s. They will share their telescopes and their love of the Dark Skies with you. Experience the darkest skies east of the MIssissippi from one of your newest National Park Units. Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.
1:30 pm | Guided Hike or Mountain Bike
Meet up at the Sandbank Campsite for a guided hike up Barnard Mountain or bike into Orin Falls. Both require moderate abilities. Mountain bikes only – no road bikes. RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 207-852-1291 for more info before Friday, 9/15/1
5:30 pm | Shuttle bus with reserved seating departs from Sandbank campsite
RSVP your seat(s) at email@example.com. Space is limited. Advanced reservations are suggested but you can follow the bus from there with your own higher clearance vehicle.
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm | Community Campfire, Chats, followed by Guided Star Viewing
