A placement test helps you determine the right courses to start with in Reading, English and Math.
Center staff administers a computerized placement test called Accuplacer (CPT) for prospective and current students. Accuplacer tests are given at the Center on the following days:
Monday evenings at 4:00 pm
Please note the following information regarding the CPT:
- No calculators are allowed.
- This is not a timed test. (Normally 90 minutes is required.)
- Bring a photo ID to the center on test day.

Practice Test Links
The Accuplacer is composed of five subtests: Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, WritePlacer, Arithmetic, and Elementary Algebra.
Eastern Maine Community College applicants are required to take the Writeplacer, Arithmetic, and Elementary Algebra subtests.
University of Maine at Augusta applicants are required to take the Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, Arithmetic, and Elementary Algebra subtests.
