University of Maine
The University of Maine MSW program prepares students to qualify for social work licensure at the LMSW level (Licensed Master Social Worker) upon graduation. University of Maine graduates who complete specific clinical social work courses and appropriate supervised work experience in a clinical setting for at least two years following graduation are eligible to apply for licensure at the LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) level.
Students in the online program will enjoy courses taught by the same faculty who teach in the other MSW formats offered by our flagship university. Using state-of-the-art learning management systems, students will engage in the majority of classes without the need to be online at a particular day or time. These asynchronous classes will be supplemented by the field seminars that requires live interaction with other students from their home or workplace via the use of face-to-face technology. Field seminars will be scheduled after regular work hours. The field internship may be completed at qualifying organizations geographically convenient to students.
Applications are now being accepted for the regular three-year online program. Students in the three-year sequence will begin September 2015. Advanced standing students will be admitted for the summer of 2016. We will begin reviewing applications in March and continue to admit qualified students through revolving admissions.
