Honors Program Launches “Spirit Flags Project”
Margaret Troost of the UMA/URock Honors Program is launching a “Spirit Flags Project” in the student lounge at URock. Take down a flag and use the markers and art materials to create your own personalized spirit flag. Share what brightens your spirit by adding a symbol or sentiment to a spirit flag in bright colors. They will be displayed for all to enjoy and they will carry us with good spirits through the spring semester!
Coffee, Dessert and Monologues
On Monday, March 17 at 6:30PM, the URock Student Association will host a coffee house time with drinks and desserts just before the student monologue performances at 7:30PM. Spend a fun and relaxing evening (unless, of course, you are a performer!) at URock. Invite some friends and family to join you! Monologues are best enjoyed by adult audiences.
Save the Date for Pecha Kucha and a Chili Cook Off! A date has been set for Friday, March 28 for a Chili Cook Off and PechaKucha Night at URock hosted by the Honors Program. UMA’s Scholarship Application is Available
UMA has an efficient way to apply for a large number of scholarships through one application process. Application deadline is March 21. There will also be an information session on Wednesday, February 26 from 1:00 – 2:30 at URock on videoconference to coach you through the application process. The session will be recorded and we can point you to a link when it is over.
UMA New York City Trip Info
URock students are eligible to join UMA’s trip to New York City Monday, May 12 – 16. Transportation, accommodations and a ticket to one of three Broadway shows is included in the cost. The student all inclusive price is $250. Guests price is $650. Sign up at the URock front desk. Payment is due at sign-up time. Space is limited.
Proctored Test Times for the Spring Term
URock will hold proctored test times on Tuesdays from 8 – 11AM and on Fridays from 4 – 7PM. You must call ahead to schedule your test and remember to bring your photo ID!

File or renew your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)for the next cycle in 2014-2015 as soon as possible in order to qualify for the most financial aid.
Apply immediately, don’t wait until you file a tax return! Estimate the numbers and file now. Once you have filed your tax return, correct any FAFSA data, as needed. Attend an MEOC Financial Aid Workshop session at URock on the following dates for hands on help with your FAFSA:
