Dan Philbrick, Director of University College Saco, is responsible for the overall operation of the Saco Center, including planning, developing and implementing University College activities, courses and programs in the Center’s geographic area. Dan oversees all of the Center’s functions. He serves on several community partners’ and University Boards and committees, ensuring that the needs of both the community and the Center are met. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies from the University of Southern Maine.

Laurie loves helping individuals find success in college and beyond.  She enjoys assisting current and prospective students with a variety of needs including: defining goals and interests, admissions, program selection, degree requirements, transfer planning, academic advising, early study for high school students, crisis intervention referrals, student leadership development, placement testing, disability services, and academic skill development. Laurie is a native of Saco, Maine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Technical Education and a Master of Science in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Southern Maine.

Joe is the full time Administrative Specialist at University College in Saco. He is responsible for overseeing work study students, managing the business office, communicating with campus resources and staff/faculty, taking payments, assisting students, and handling the budget. Joe enjoys helping others and looks forward to wrapping up his Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Southern Maine. Before accepting his position at UC-Saco, Joe gained valuable experience as a student worker at USM’s Lewiston/Auburn campus, and is very happy to be working at the Saco Center now. Through his work, Joe has discovered that he likes working in higher education and administration and is currently enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Adult & Higher Education program from USM.

 

BethanyBethany Towne

Bethany Towne is the part-time evening Administrative specialist at University College Saco. She is responsible for supporting full-time staff and evening office and center management including keeping social media and the newsletter up to date, supervising student workers, and assisting students in person or over the phone. Bethany graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelors degree in Tourism and Hospitality. She grew up in Saco, Maine and has always enjoyed being a part of her home and surrounding communities through work and volunteering. Some of the things she enjoys in her free time are arts and music, photography, animals, reading, event planning, and spending time with family and friends. She is very happy to be a part of the UC-Saco team and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Adult and Higher Education from USM along with volunteering in the community.
