Bookstore

Books, syllabi, videotapes and other course materials for all courses delivered on-site or via technology may be ordered by mail, phone or fax, or online from the UMA Bookstore.

Please consult the list of required materials before placing your order. Please note that syllabi and most course materials are NOT handed out in class for courses taught via technology. They must be ordered through the bookstore. (Although many online instructors distribute some materials via the internet, many of these courses also rely on bookstore-delivered materials.)

Plan to order your books and course materials two to three weeks before the beginning of class to ensure their timely arrival (Mastercard, VISA, Discover). Please allow a minimum of five working days for delivery. Materials will be shipped by UPS to the street address provided (UPS will not deliver to PO boxes) or you may pick up your books in person.

Writing Support

No matter how skillful writers are, questions always arise, such as how to document a source, organize thoughts, and develop ideas.

Self-Help

The Online Writing Lab from Purdue University and Writing@CSU from Colorado State University provide thousands of tips, pre-writing exercises, organizational tools, audience/purpose assistance, writing and revision guidelines, examples and rules for correct documentation of sources, editing helps and grammar rules ? all a student needs for college writing, and all available at a click of the mouse.  Both are highly regarded by English departments throughout the United States, and most online writing departments link to them both.

Working with a Tutor

If you prefer to work with a person, check out UMA’s Writing Tutor.  Be sure to follow the instructions before you submit a paper for review and comments, and don?t wait until the last minute since there could be more than a 24-hour turnaround.
