General Scholarships Information and Application
The University of Maine at Augusta, University of Maine System, and several donor organizations offer a variety of scholarship opportunities to UMA students. All scholarships require a minimum academic Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0, unless otheiwise specified in the scholarship description. Completion of the application only certifies that you will be considered for the scholarship(s) you check off on the application. Be sure to read each scholarship description and the application instructions carefully before applying. Scholarship awards will depend on the amount of money available and the number of qualified recipients.
Please attach a resume and cover letter which contains a personal statement as to why you feel that you should be considered for a scholarship. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. These scholarships are awarded in April or May for the upcoming academic year, (i e: Fall and/or Spring semesters). Students graduating in the summer session 2018 or fall 2018, are not eligible for these scholarships.
Scholarships that are based on financial eligibility require that the applicant submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor by February 20th to meet UMA’s preferred filing date of March 1, 2018.
