Maine NEW Leadership is designed to educate, empower, and encourage participants to take on leadership roles through a six-day residential, non-partisan training program, provided at no cost to 28 undergraduate college students to educate and inspire them to become effective civic and political leaders.
Joline Connolly-Allen, a UMA alumni who completed her studies from University College at Bath/Brunswick was selected in 2015 to participate in the Maine National Education for Women Leadership program at the University of Maine. Here is what she had to say about her experience:
“The Maine New Leadership program gave me the opportunity to understand how our Maine government works, and the important roles we can all play to make a difference in our communities. The experience also allowed me to meet other young women who have interests in the government, and ways to explore opportunities to create leadership roles in their own personal lives.”
