This 31-credit hour certificate program provides students with a foundation of skills and knowledge important to the general field of social services. Courses are offered on a guaranteed basis. Students are encouraged to contact the appropriate division office, registrar or advising center for advising and support services.  Upon completion of this program, students will have:

  • the knowledge and skills that are deemed important to people who work within the context of the human service system
  • accomplished course work that relates to systems’ theory and practice
  • the foundation courses for the A.S. and B.S. in Mental Health and Human Services
  • a working knowledge of family dynamics and family systems theory
