Read Student comments about the COE 313 Community Experience internships in the Psychology & Community Studies program:
“COE helped me locate other community members working in the field to build professional relationships with. I got an opportunity to speak with people I many never have met otherwise.” – Marie Savard
“There is no class that can prepare you for every situation you will experience in life, but COE sure can be helpful when exploring the professional world before graduating. COE offered opportunities to perfect skills in interviewing, professionalism, and some possibly once in a lifetime experience. This class also gives you the chance to explore you profession of interest. It can even turn into a profession you don’t want to do, but that is important to realize to. Never hesitate to ask questions. – Kristen Chandler
“COE has impacted my future plans because it allowed me to focus on a specific career path. I had many thoughts of where I wanted to go after graduation. And now I am aware of my skills, strengths, and weaknesses which helped me narrow down what I wanted. It has been one of the best classes I have taken at UMM. I was able to apply the knowledge I gained through this program and see the importance of each one. “– Mandie Durrell
“Think outside the box – pursue an internship that will help strengthen any of your weaknesses. Make the most of it. It’s meant to be a learning opportunity. COE has shaped my future plans because its taught me which demographic I’m most comfortable working with.” – Lesley Hanscom
